STRENGTH FUNDAMENTALS – Learn the skill & technique of lifting safely & strongly with Lion Fitness.
This strength workshop will cover the basic principles of how to lift, squat, hinge, push & pull. We will work through a variety of exercises and focus on the movement patterns and technique required to help develop maximal power and to prevent injury.
This workshop is aimed at anyone (members and non-members) who want to feel more confident and stronger when using weights in the gym or at home. If you have a passion for sports (running, rugby, triathlon, cycling, tennis…) then we will give you the skills and knowledge to build your strength safely and effectively.
The sessions will show you variations of some of the most common exercises and we’ll explain how you can target specific muscle groups with slight changes to most exercises.
You will get lots of practice with the exercises, but please note that this is not a workout session. It’s a chance to learn, question and to improve how you exercise. The session will also run through how to mobilise and warm up thoroughly prior to a strength workout.
You’ll leave armed with the knowledge and skills to be able to incorporate these fantastic exercises in to your own sessions or our classes.
